Maple-leaved Viburnum Viburnum acerifolium
Family: Caprifoliaceae (Honeysuckle)
Branching: Opposite

Maple-leaf Viburnum buds are darker and have four (sometimes more) bud scales.  When leaves can be found, they are downy underneath and the twigs can be velvety as well.  It doesn't grow as tall as some other Viburnums, usually about waist-height.
