This is a photographic "helper"
field guide that contains photos of
about 200 species of woody plants (and some conspicuous non-woody
plants) found in Southern Ontario and the
Northeastern part of the continent. Since there are many
excellent resources that provide detailed descriptions, I opted to
focus mainly of photographs. Each photo contains a link to
the
full-sized image for closeup inspection. This guide is best
used
when a person already has an idea what they might be looking at, or in
conjunction with another field guide where my photos can supplement the
other info. I would also recommend simply browsing through
the
pics when you have time and familiarizing yourself with the appearance
of new species. So far, the species are cataloged
only by
common name, though I plan
to add a "quick find" key to use with outstanding features.
There
are also some species that need to be completed.
This is a work in progress, so please don't hesitate to email me
with any question, comments, or errors in the content!
The alphabetic list is online
now.
