Dogbane Apocynum spp.
Family: Milkweed
Branching: Opposite / Non-woody
Other names: Indian Hemp
This non-woody plant is often noticed in the winter because of its
slender pods. The seeds, like those of Milkweeds, are topped with
a cottony tuft that allows them to drift easily in the air.
The dead stems can appear woody in the winter. The plant usually
grows from knee to waist height.
